Cambodia, Sudan strengthen cooperation on agriculture

Cambodia, Sudan tighten bilateral cooperation on agriculture and investment

Samdech Techo Prime Minister Hun Sen on March 12 met with Ali Ahmet Karti Mohamed, the special envoy to Sudanese president and vice minister of foreign affairs to expand the bilateral cooperation between a kingdom in the Southeast Asian Nation and a country in Africa.
Speaking with reporter after the meeting at the national assembly., Eang Sophallet, assistant to PM Hun Sen said that mission of Mr.Ali to Cambodia today is to tighten the bilateral cooperation with focusing on fields of the bilateral cooperation, agriculture, and investment.
Mr. Ali also highly appreciated for the development of Cambodia which used to pass through the civil war but now the country is in stable and peaceful development,” Eang said. Mr.Ali also thanked Cambodia that sent the mine clearance team to Sudan,” Eang told reporter as quoting from Mr. Ali. Mr. Ali conveyed the hospitality words from Sudanese president to PM Hun Sen, Eang said, adding that both side s will enhance further cooperation on the rice product and agriculture and investment.
Samdech Techo PM told Mr. Ali that sending the mine clearance team is just humanitarian affairs only and encouraged both sides to boost more bilateral cooperation,” Eang said. Cambodia sent first team of mine clearance to Sunday in 2006 under the umbrella of the UN peacekeeping mission. And at that time, Cambodia sent 135 de-miners to Sudan for UN peacekeeping mission, and then 139 in June 2007 to replace the old ones. The 135 de-miners were renewed again in 2008. And In 2009, Cambodia also sent over one hundred of de-miners to implement its task with the UN to help humanitarian affairs. ###
